Year 2 Day 160- At our limits.

by admin on April 29th, 2005

This session needs to end. Now.

I’ve mentioned this a thousand times, maybe more, but the closer we get to the end of the year the more kids stop working. They’ve decided that they’re either graduating, or not graduating, and base their output accordingly. All the teachers are frustrated, and burnt out. We have so many kids producing only 3 credits every six weeks,(that’s low) Not only are they producing at low levels, they’re causing classroom disruptions. When they’re not working, there’s nothing else to do, but cause trouble.

Some of the teachers finally forced the administration to put these kids on a production contract… (make so many credits per week, or you’re out.) One teacher basically told them, either you put these kids on a contract, or I swear, I’m taking the rest of the year off. He’s a no nonsense kind of guy though, I wish in a lot of ways I could be like that. He has said the day he gets too pissed to deal with it, he’ll throw his keys down, and walk out. The cool thing is… he would. I couldn’t do that.

The people from Arizona didn’t call me last night. Not that I’m saddend or anything, but they didn’t show up for the phone interview. Oh well. Stuff happens, people get busy. I’ll live. I sent for an application for a school in Washington, and applied for a school in Indiana, and one in South Carolina.

I’m still not sure I’d ever move anywhere, but I’m so fed up with the lack of support, and direction of this district, I’m going to check every option. Who knows where that ideal job might be located. The Washington school looks promising. Not too big of a school, pretty close to bigger cities, nice housing costs. I have friends within an hour. I could deal with that.

I need to write some letters this week, I’ll get on it.

Coke never replied to the letter sent by the mock continuation student, even though they SAID they would send a prompt reply.

The score is Education-1 Continuation-0

Just for the record, I tried Lime Coke, and thought it was pretty good. In fact, I could barely taste the difference between it and regular Coke… now new Coke? YUK!
