Year 4 Day 57- Return of the Rod

by admin on November 7th, 2006

Well I was out sick yesterday. I had some things to do as well, but I WAS sick too, so I’ll stick to my sickness claim. I had a bad sub I guess. Typical. If we’re lucky enough to GET a sub, 75% of the time they turn out to be bad. It takes a special person to be able to sub here and enjoy it.

The lady who had my classes left me a not. She said ‘all were on task 90% of the time.’ That’s good. She also mentioned, ‘attendance was approx. 70-50%’ She took roll twice for accuracy.

It left me wondering, Did attendance start out at 70%, then end up at 50% by the end of class? I don’t know. I do know that they were on task though, because I found an art project waiting for me on my desk this morning. It was a nice pastel piece. The subject matter was interesting as well…a giant squirting penis. It wasn’t squirting a giant, simply squirting something out of the end. I was going to hang it up in the hall, but I think it may scare someone.

I found out something else interesting and comical this morning as well. We had a student here who we thought had Lukemia. We thought he did, because he told the office he did. He wanted to be treated normally though. He didn’t want us to make a big deal about it. Our VP was trying to set up something with make-a-wish foundation for him and all kinds of other things. He was making a big deal out of it.

It turns out…he doesn’t have Lukemia. He made it all up. I’m glad we didn’t bring back Gumbel 2 Gumbel for him.

Why would you give yourself a life threatning disease, but not want anyone to know about it, so you didn’t get any special treatment? I thought kids made stuff like that up TO get special treatment? The idea here is that he has a job that he wants to work more, so he used the Lukemia as an excuse to stay home from school, when really he was at work.

I find it all very comical.
