Year 4 Day 57- Madden

by admin on November 7th, 2006

So operation ‘take a knee’ is underway. I must say, I’m having a problem picking out which defense to run on which day. I think I’m doing ok, but I tend to “try” and not blitz, but the frist sign of a chance, I go blitz. In other words, If my wife turns in to Peyton Manning, and start calling plays at the line, I’m going to get burned. So far, I give myself a C for effort.

I need to go to counseling again, and get a few more pointers. My wife has an appt. today, and I won’t have any idea what goes down until I go next week. We’ll discuss it no doubt, but I’m limited in what I get to know. It’s usually a list of things we ‘shouldn’t’ do.

Life is not very fun right now. I really enjoy the time I spend with my wife, and the past few days we’ve been having quite a good time just hanging out and laughing with our kids and what not. I get all giddy to hang out with her…then I have to remember to ‘scale back some’ Or I go home, then I sit by myself in my hut and play Madden.

Being as I’m using Madden as my ‘outlet’ for being not over doing it, I take Madden pretty seriously. I lost last night on a last second play, screamed, threw controllers, and went to bed.

The nice thing about Madden is it’s replay ability…as far as Madden knows, I didn’t lose last night, I just decided to replay it today. LIfe is NOT like that…and that’s a bummer.

Thankfully softball begins tonight. I should be at the one-bag tonight, digging out throws, and using my reach to hold down the fort. Today was a scheduled ‘scale back’ day as well, and a double header at the ‘old ball park’ will help keep me occupied. I could see my mind wandering, and taking a line drive off the face too. Softball season for me the past couple years has turned into a season of pulled groin muscles and line drive outs. It is almost without fail that our first game I hit a ball into the gap and am forced to leg out an in the park home run..and as I cross the plate my groin goes one way while I go the other…then I’m hobbled for the remainder of the year.

I’m eagerly awaiting my first groin pull of the year.

I had a student try to turn in one of my sketches today for credit in another class…it didn’t go so well for her. She’s not the sharpest knife in the drawer though.

The 2nd session ends Thursday…and we’re 6 weeks away from being half way done with this year. WOW. Years begin to really fly by. 10 years is a long time to be at a job…but it seems like only a blink of an eye.

I’m off to go get myself mentally ready for ball tonight…I should get to the park early so I can stretch. When I do pull that muscle, I’d like to know I tried to loosen up first.

Getting older sucks.
