Year 3 Day 70- asleep at the wheel

by admin on December 6th, 2005

SO I’ve only got one home student right now… I let the other one go, it was way to awkward to show up, and have some random man who smelled like beer sitting and supervising me…and having to be supervised isn’t a wise situation in the first place, so I let the cash go, and took the safe route.

I showed up yesterday to my remaining student and it was a priceless scene. He was sick, so I didn’t get to work with him… but the scene outside was worth the wasted trip.

There was a tire in the middle of the road in front of the house. One of the 4 cars parked in the driveway had someone sleeping in it. Two people were working on taking a tire off a vehicle… while two more were trying to PUSH a truck up in a trailer across the street, with another lady inside hollering directions. I was so hoping to see the truck back down their ramp and crush a few people, I even drove slowly as I left to see if it’d happen… but they somehow managed to get it up the ramp. They even left one guy for a short time holding the truck by himself on the ramp while the others moved to see if it was lined up right. I figured that would have been the time when the truck crushed someone. I thought…”wow, I’m going to get to witness this year’s Darwin awards winner in person.” nothing happend though…at least not while I was there.

The dad whom I actually spoke to seems to have no clue what his son does on a daily basis, maybe even weekly basis.

iYeah he’s sick still I think… lemmie check… .yeah, he’s sleepin’ on the couch… I think he’s got pneumonia… see you tomorrow.i

How do you NOT know what’s ailing your children? I’ll show up today, but it will be interesting to see if he’s still sick, or has ANYTHING done.

You realize, of course, that we need to see an illustration of this.

It’s amazing that some of those home school kids are alive, not in juvi, etc…
