First off let me apologize for my lack of participation the past few days… like I mentioned, I’ve been trying to complete a large project, which finally is complete, although it’s not up to my standards, I had to just let it go as best as I could get it.

I’m going to start posting random drawings, not necessarily of MY kids, but just of typical kids that might go here. They may be funny, or just plain disturbing, but they’ll be a little more visually stimulating than a bunch of words. I should start posting them fairly soon. I’ve got a couple of pictures in the works now, and more on the way.

SO last week I mentioned that I was going to turn over a new leaf so to speak, and just try and do a good job, one day at a time- so far, so good. I’ve decided that as much as this job chaps my rear on most days, things could be a lot worse. I could be like the guys I saw in Africa who walked an hour and a half to work each morning, which forced them up at 4:30am each day just to work for $8 a day… or less. That doesn’t sound like fun. I could be living in the dung filled water of New Orleans too, and that ALSO wouldn’t be fun. In other words, my life certainly could be much worse, and so could my job… so every time I feel bad for myself, I picture the guy in Africa walking 2 miles home in the dark with an empty stomach, and the chance of being bitten by a Mamba, and I don’t feel quite so bad.

That being said, I still plan on reporting the usual stories from the day, and I’ll still complain about certain things, I just won’t be so negative about being here (or at least I’ll try).

This week has gone smoothly for the first day. Most of the kids are recovering from 4 solid days of drinking, and huffing paint, or whatever it is they do… basically they’ve been uninterested in working, and more interested in telling stories of drunken debauchery.

I have one kid who can’t stop cursing to save his life. It’s so engrained in his head that every other word is F*** this and F*** that, really it’s getting on my nerves, and other than kicking him out of class, I haven’t been able to stop it. I wish it was like at home when my kids say something bad, I could just wash his mouth out with soap… .that’d be fun.

This week will be short due to a wedding I’m attending on Friday. So, technically, I’m 1/3 of the way done this week.

… and Ohm of the way done with session 1.

That kid in the lower right corner… is that Beaker’s delinquent muppet brother?
