Year 2 Day 48- The resume is in the mail.

by admin on October 27th, 2004

The job application process is increasing. I’m sending out 6 more applications today. I’ve sent one out to Montana, to a private school, and heard nothing back. I’ve given up on them for the most part.

One of the problems with applying for jobs out of state is that you can’t go check on them in person. It’s always nice to apply for a job when someone can see you. Words don’t give a good enough impression. It’s nice to be able to go in and physically check on your application.

In looking at my resume, I wish for a few things. I wish I could use Flash well enough to make an online resume, with pictures of student work, my work etc. I just don’t have the time to do it, and do it as well as I’d like. I also wish I knew how to write that iKilleri cover letter. I know what the cover letter is supposed to say, and I can write a run of the mill cover letter, but I wish my letter was AWESOME.

I always have to fight using humor in my letters, going on too long, etc. I know that these letters are supposed to stick to main points. This is who I am (briefly), This is where I saw the ad, this is why I want the job, these are my salary requirements, thanks for paying attention to my letter, and I hope you give me a call.

They just seem so boring. I think a cool website would be way better.

Here is where the current resumes are headed.

South Carolina
North Carolina
Colorado
Indiana
Tennessee
Arizona

I hope I get some response. Even a, “Hey, thanks, we’ll keep it on file.” would be nice.

A website would be good though.

I bet Indiana would be a great place to live.
