Daily School Journal Day 154- The end draws near.

by admin on May 5th, 2004

It’s getting to be late in the year. For some reason we KEEP enrolling new students. Normally at this time of the year we have about 90 students, which is manageable; we now have 140+, it’s obscene. Our classes are packed!

Typically at this time of year we’re getting rid of people, not adding them. I don’t understand it. One of my colleagues put it best;

iEither they’re trying to piss us off, or kill us, and neither one is acceptable.i

Thank goodness the school year is winding down. I think that is the only thing that keeps teachers even showing up.

It’s getting really boring at school these days. There hasn’t been too much excitement anywhere. Everyone is just going through the motions. The kids very close to graduating are working to try and get there, and those not close are sitting around wasting oxygen.

Our school is having a prom. It’s a joke. I don’t know WHY they even try. They had 8 people at last years. They wanted me to be a chaperone for it, uhm, no.
I like to give the kids a hard time about it though. They’ll say whom they’re taking to the dance, and I always say something like

iWhat? The Marlboro man already had a date?i
