Daily School Journal day 104 (AM) YOU DON’T HAVE TO LIVE LIKE A REFUGEE

by admin on February 11th, 2004

We’re having trouble here with kids running away. It’s almost a daily occurrence here. We have kids who run off to get loaded in peace, with friends. I mean I totally understand that position, who wants to get loaded with your parents breathing down your neck, and trying to bum some bennies off you. Sometimes they run off with a boyfriend or girlfriend. I can only assume that they do this because nobody understands the love they feel for one another, and they run off to be together. I think this is VERY sweet. I’m totally kidding. I think it’s sick. I can tell you this, if my kid were idatingi a kid like some of these kids, I’d lock them up, shackles and everything. One kid wrote on their folder a calendar listing the events that happened on each day.
FEB 21- GOT BACK WITH GREG.
FEB 22- RAN AWAY.

I ran away once, when I was like 7. I got to the corner of my street, got scared and went home. Brown paper bag full of clothes in tow. I wanted to make one of those nice hobo packs, like in the cartoons, with the handkerchief on the stick, with everything inside of it… . I couldn’t figure out how to do it. Those hoboes’s in cartoons are a lot smarter than I gave them credit for.
