Daily School Journal Day 15 (AM)

by admin on September 9th, 2003

Yesterday was interesting. I went home, stopped at the video store, and got a video for my class today. I also got a little information magazine on upcoming new releases. I drove home, and was sort of in a daze, or maybe it was a zone. I don’t remember. I got home parked in front of my house, on the street. I was listening to ESPN, and reading the video handout to try and decipher their ratings method. I looked over and there is a truck just sitting next to me. I figure hey maybe he’s waiting for someone, but he’s sort of close to my car. So I keep on reading, and listening. I look over dude is still there, and he’s mouthing something at me. I figure, hey maybe he’s lost, and needs some directions. So I roll down the window, and look at the guy. “Can I help you?”

“You got a problem?”

SO I figure, maybe he thinks it’s weird me sitting in front of this house, maybe he thinks I’ve broke or something.

“No, thanks. Just listening to the radio”

“Did you know you cut me off back there? I ALMOST ran into you.” (Sucks for you)

“Uhm, no sorry, I apologize.”

“Yeah, well next time you might not be so lucky.”

I continued to sit there. I actually got a little mad, I mean how many times have we all been cut off or something dumb was done to us while we drove? DAILY. How many times do we follow someone home and let him or her know about it? Rarely. I hope. That guy was what the students here will be. I thought it was funny; it was totally something one of my students would have done. The funniest part was he looked like former Wrestling great Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart. So I was almost laughing.

Sorry Jim, didn’t mean to cut you off.
